ADRIANA RIVERA GRAPHICS

PERSONAL STATEMENT

My interest in the arts, specifically graphic design, developed early in life. I moved to Los Angeles from Mexico City, where art was prevalent in everyday life, at the age of ten. I soon found this to be true of the city of angels; I’ve since been fascinated by L.A.’s unbridled creativity, its ubiquitous billboards, hyper-designed bus signage and immense sprawling graffiti art.

BRANDING PROJECTS_

CITY OF LOS ANGLES DEPARTMENT ON DISABILITY_

My current work with the City of Los Angeles Department on Disability has allowed me to collaborate with non-profit organizations and other city departments whose work focuses on facilitating resources and empowering disabled communities. My work experience with the city has also allowed me to create presentations and train awareness on design and digital accessibility.

Much of my work focuses on research and finding a solution to design problems. When I started within the Department On Disability, I was assigned to develop its branding strategy and tasked with creating logos that encompass different communities within the disabled spectrum, of which the department serves. During the research stage of design, I strategize the need for inclusion (and representation) of the disability community writ large.

VIDA MAGAZINE_

Designed the logo and publication layout for Vida magazine, a new quarterly Spanish publication geared to teach the Spanish-speaking community about the Salvation Army. The Spanish publication was to be timeless. With the growing Latin population within The Salvation Army, it was essential to have a magazine specifically for them. I enhanced the new magazine presentation through graphics, illustrations, photography and ensured brand consistency when delivering internal and external audiences information.

KALEIDOSCCOPE KOLLECTIVE_

Kaleidoscope Kollective is a brick-and-mortar shop made up of four individual designers who share space in Echo Park. The logo is meant to represent the diversity of each designer and the many talents they share under one roof.
